GiG Gets Permanent New Jersey Online Casino Platform LicenseOnline gambling company Gaming Innovation Group (GiG) announced Wednesday that its US-facing subsidiary iGaming Cloud Inc. has obtained a permanent casino service industry enterprise license from the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement.
GiG submitted its application for the permanent iGaming license back in June 2018 as part of its US expansion effort. New Jersey was the first state in the US with a legal iGaming market GiG has launched its services in.
GiG entered the Garden State’s regulated market in 2018 with a transactional waiver granted by state gambling regulators. The transactional waiver allows license applicants to conduct online gambling activities in New Jersey while undergoing a Division of Gaming Enforcement review which is a required step before the regulator grants a permanent license.
Being granted a permanent permit from the regulatory agency means that GiG is now fully licensed to provide its real-money online casino platform solution to operators servicing customers on the territory of New Jersey. GiG’s new permanent license is valid for five years.
GiG was founded in 2012 with the goal to “open up iGaming and make it fair and fun for all.” The company is headquartered in Malta and is listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange and Nasdaq Stockholm. It formerly provided both B2B and B2C iGaming services but after selling its B2C brands to Betsson earlier this year, the company is now focusing on cementing itself as a leading provider of B2B solutions for the global online gambling industry.A Great Achievement
Commenting on their permanent iGaming permit, GiG Chief Executive Officer Richard Brown said that they are delighted to now be holding the license after “a long and comprehensive process.”
Mr. Brown added that the permanent license in New Jersey is a great achievement and gives his company “a solid confirmation that our platform, procedures and operations are meeting the highest standards out there.”
In 2018, GiG announced a partnership with Hard Rock International that saw it support the gaming and hospitality operator’s first foray into the online casino and sports betting sector through its Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City property that had just opened doors at the time.
The Atlantic City hotel and casino resort launched in January 2019 a GiG-powered sportsbook as part of the partnership between the two companies.
Hard Rock and GiG extended their alliance even further in September 2019 when a GiG-powered sports betting operation went live with Hard Rock in Iowa’s then newly regulated sports betting market. GiG and its US casino partner have unveiled more collaboration plans that will see the online gambling group expand its presence on US soil even further.
